Shared note	Des was a Merchant seaman. He also served in the RAN during WW2 (on active service). He was mobiliz ed by proclamation for service in the the Australian Navy in April, 194 2 when he was 17 years old. He was discharged from the Navy in 1946. He died while boating on Port Phillip Bay, Victoria. ( info received fr om sister, Joan McKee)
