Shared note | Worked on a grape farm He was working for his mother at the time of his marriage. His first marriage took place 18 months after his bride-to-be gave birt h to their first child, Johannes. Pastor Ulrich Warth of Endersbach said to me (in 1992) it was most likel y that at the time of the birth (1818), Johannes didn't have sufficient funds to get married. This was a requir ement of the church at the time. Johannes and his first wife, Mgd. Gottliebin Reichlin were second cousin s. They both shared Johann Fr. SCHWEGLER (1707-1747) and Charlotta Sophia LOW as great grandparents. T his fact would have made it difficult for the church to agree to the marriage, and so may have co ntributed to, or maybe, the main cause of the delay in them getting married. Witnesses to his second marriage were: Herr Gottlieb KOCH, Richter (Court Official) and Heiligen Pfleger (Ch urch Administrator) of Beutelsbach. Magdalena, wife of Michael ELLWANGER, wine gardener. Death Register shows that he died between 4 and 5 o'clock. He died of W assersucht (dropsy). He was 56 years old. He was bueied at 10 o'clock on the 24th of April 1852. |
